A Primary school assembly, written and delivered to our school as we waited for the Ofsted call! This really helped children to understand how we keep them safe, including lots of ways that they are less likely to know about. This really improved the pupil response in both our in-school pupil survey and for Ofsted when they eventually called in November 2023. We were graded good in all areas. Fully editable.

An assembly for KS2 (Lower Ks3) that runs through the events of the Holocaust looking at Anne Frank and the value of Equality.

A comprehensive covering letter and personal statement which I wrote during my recent job search. Although it obviously needed to be adapted to suit the needs of each school that I was applying for, I found that having a ‘base’ letter was extremely useful. I was shortlisted for each job I sent this application to (and gained a headship) There was nothing on line at the time that I could use to guide/scaffold me, so I hope that someone finds this useful!

A transition day lesson, full of ideas for getting to know your new class. Could be used on transition day, or on the first day of term. UPDATED FOR 2023 PowerPoint is fully adaptable to your needs, but takes you through the lesson plan step by step. All of the resources are included too. The activities all lead to potential displays for your classroom. 1,. Growth mindset poster activity - feeds into a discussion about the type of learners we want to be. 2. Guess Who bunting - children design their own piece to match their characters, using likes and dislikes etc… Makes an effective display for the start of the year. 3. A passport which will provide space for key information about students and mini art works to complete on transition day. Suitable for KS2. Could be printed onto a single sheet of A3 to make it large enough for display. (this would make it A5 on each surface) 4. A blank mobile phone template - for a Selfie portrait activity and display. I did it Snap chat style with text and images too. Made a really great display for September. Ideas for other time fillers, to avoid running out of activities!

I have run a very successful spelling bee at my school for over 5 years now. These are copies (adapted and improved year on year) that I use to organise and implement it. Includes word lists, instructions for teachers and parents, certificates, power point score board and proformas of letters to parents and teachers etc.. A whole school assembly for KS2 and KS3 that explains in child friendly language what is meant by ‘Child on Child’ abuse, to raise awareness of the different forms it takes and to let children know what to do if it happens to them. There is also a lesson on child on child abuse if you would like to teach this in more detail. The staff statement can be used in a staff briefing or email to ensure that staff understand what the term means, The pupil statement can be shared with children (KS2 and 3) and discussed in class. All documents can be personalised to your school and shared on your website. The approach was praised by OFSTED in our 2023/4 inspection. All documents are fully editable.

This is a SEF that I have written over time about our school. It is highly detailed - 29 pages and 20,000 words. This will save you hours of work, it is fully editable, in word and can be cut and paste. Nothing like this existed when I started the journey, and it would have been so helpful to have seen what other schools write. It covers all Ofsted areas, including actions since last inspection. Our school received GOOD in Autumn 2023 (Section 5 inspection) and my self was called ‘EXEMPLARY’ by my MAT and by our HMI inspector.
